Vintage Fibreglass Hulls 24 foot Fantail Launch
Scarborough Engineering has a selection of fibreglass hulls available for the person looking to step back in time, but wants the advantage of a brand new fibreglass hull. Packages are available in various forms, fibreglass hull only, fibreglass hull with timber, plywood and epoxy deck or fibreglass hull and deck and fibreglass internal moldings. These hulls allow you to have a boat that can be trailered or moored without concerns for the hull integrity of an old boat. For those of you wishing to build a boat, this is a great way to start.
Buy a hull and do it yourself, or get your local shipwright to finish to your requirements. Scarborough Engineering is more than happy to supply any component parts ie. deck beams, marlin boards, machined timber and if required, we will custom build to your specifications, needs or requirements.
The boat pictured below is a 24 foot fantail launch from the 1920’s era. Photo 1 is an image of the mold and the second image is the finished boat. This boat would lend itself to a lot of applications, a day boat with putt putt engine and cabin, a steam launch, an electric day boat.

Vintage Fibreglass Hulls, 18 foot Clinker putt putt
Our second boat in the range, is an 18 foot clinker putt putt with a nice shape, beamy and versatile boat. We have made this boat into a classic putt putt day boat with traditional pintel rudder, timber gunnels and bowsprit. We have fitted various motors to this model from Yanmar diesels, 15 to 30 HP, to inboard electric with lithium ion battery pack. We have also made this hull into a center console work boat for a number of marinas in the Sydney area.

The first boat pictured below is an 18 foot clinker launch, fitted with a plywood epoxy deck undergoing a floatation test, prior to completion. Photo 2 is a picture of a center console work boat on a trailer ready for delivery and final completion in Sydney.
This hull shape is a very stable in the water and can be trailered for additional convenience.
